A Blue Star indicates an all ages story.

 

A Yellow Star indicates adult situations; mild adult language; mild sexual situations or non-explicit descriptions; some violence or non-graphic descriptions; sensitive situations may have a special warning. 

 

A Red Star indicates explicit sex or violence; adult language; sensitive situations may have a special warning.

 

A story may be rated Jix-18 and protected by a password for several reasons: it could have a Red Star rating, it could involve a sensitive situation without a Red Star, the author may have elected to protect the story with a password to prevent access by readers under the age of 18 for personal reasons.
